Suzanna Bortz still can’t decide if it’s more fun to teach or to learn. Before her current role as a reading interventionist, she taught for over 30 years, including special education at Journey, Spanish dual immersion in Capo, bilingual classroom in Santa Ana. In 2022, Suzanna completed a doctorate in Education, focusing on teacher education in dyslexia. She also has a Master’s in Elementary Curriculum, two CA credentials (multiple subject, special education), is a language development specialist, and certified in preschool and adult education. Several years ago she and her black Labrador Retriever, Verdot, became an animal therapy team. Verdot enjoys visiting Journey and has happily listened to Green Eggs on a regular basis. When not teaching Suzanna enjoys reading, walking, and watching mysteries with her husband.
