At Journey School, parent involvement isn’t just appreciated…it’s part of what makes our program possible, stretching resources further and strengthening the relationships between families, teachers, and students. It is woven into the fabric of a public Waldorf education and when parents show up to help in classrooms, on campus, or at events, children see firsthand what a committed community looks like, and that models the same values of service and belonging we teach in the classroom. Use the links below to complete the volunteer application process.

Please note that there is a new requirements for volunteers who interact with students: SB 848 expanded California’s definition of mandated reporters to include “certain” volunteers who interact with students. Specifically, completion of a mandated reporter training is required if you plan on chaperoning during field trips or driving students. The training is not required for individuals who are volunteering under the direct supervision of a school staff member (volunteering in classrooms, etc.)

- Scroll down to find “Volunteer 26/27 Training” Mandated Reporter Training for Board Members and Volunteers.
- Copy the Vimeo training link and paste into a new browser
- Make note of the associated password, you’ll need this…each training video is password protected.
- Remind them that they must watch all three videos below before they can proceed to
- the Certificate of Completion.
- Please complete all three (3) training videos
- Forward your Certificate of Completion to volunteers@journeyschool.net OR print and drop off at the front office.
