Erin O’Neill

Ms. O’Neill has been an active part of the Journey School Community for over 7 years. She first came to Waldorf Education as a parent, and was soon inspired to teach within this unique Waldorf curriculum. “Ms. Erin” has enjoyed teaching handwork (with her dear friend, Ms. Amanda), and Theatre Arts in the Middle School. She began “The Little Theatre” (after-school program) at Journey School, producing and directing over nine full length plays for this outstanding community. She has undergone Waldorf HandCraft training and is actively engaged in the Waldorf Training
Program at Journey School. She holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, in New York City, where she studied Classical and Experimental Theatre under the Late Broadway Director Elizabeth Swados, creator of social conscious theatre, and trained under Method instructors at Stella Adler, Strasberg, and Playwrights Horizons. She has written original work produced at Off-Broadway’s Here and Axis Theatres.

Ms. O’Neill holds a CA Single Subject Credential in both English and Theatre Arts, and has a passion for bridging the gap between complex content and Drama, in an effort to promote literacy. She believes strongly in supporting an inspiring/creative environment in which a child’s gifts can flourish.
Ms. O’Neill is currently in her 4th and final year of her Masters Degree in Theatre Arts, at Southern Oregon University, in conjunction with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland Oregon. She finds herself centered throughout the summer with other Theatre/English teachers in this program, among the deer, forest, river and Shakespearean enthusiasts.

In her private time, you can find her with her husband, and two daughters at the beach “rock walking,” e-biking or at home reading/writing and watching mysteries for fun.
