2015-2016 Playground Rules
- Be kind and respectful with our words and deeds.
- Hands and feet are used for playing, helping and working.
- Shoes are worn at all times.
- Swings must be sat upon. Stay clear of swings in motion.
- Climbing is only permitted on the playground structures (big and little toys) and tetherball poles.
- Playground equipment is collected by all of us at end of each recess. Building materials are returned to the building area.
- Food must be finished at the lunch table area.
- Only teachers and parent volunteers are on the playground during recesses. Parents with young children must exit the areas.
- Classroom corridors, classrooms, and the gardens are off limits with the following exceptions:
- Grades 6-8 may be in the Green Heart Garden, following the Garden Rules. No tag or running games allowed in the gardens.
- Grade 3 students may be in their garden during recess with their teachers only.
- Students may work with a teacher.
Playground Safety After School
- All students are to remain with their parent/guardian before school supervision begins in the morning, as well as in the afternoon each school day.
- Before School: School supervision begins at 8:10 for Grades 1-8. Kindergarten supervision for students with siblings enrolled in grades 1-8 is provided in the Kindergarten Yard from 8:10-8:40.
- After School: School supervision ends at 12:55 for Kindergarten and at 3:15 for Grades 1-8. At 3:15, Grades 1-8 students will be brought to the office and must be picked up no later than 3:30pm. Students who remain on campus after those times with no notice from a parent/guardian will have emergency contacts called to pick up your child.
- Playground rules must be followed at all times before or after school.
